In order to promote the cultural exchanges between China and Australia, deepen the understanding and cognition of Chinese Australian college students about their native country, improve their professional practice ability, attract more Chinese new generation to come to Hainan, and gather the strength of overseas Chinese community for the construction of Hainan FTP, Hainan has recently organized and launched the 2024 Australian Chinese College Students in Hainan Exchange activities.

With the strong support of the United Front Work Department of Hainan Provincial Party Committee, WGT gives full play to the advantages of platform resources and actively assists in promoting the special action of 2024 Australian Chinese college students to come to Hainan for internship. From the establishment of the project to the launch of the activity, WGT has always been closely linked with the government, docking enterprise resources, and ensuring that the relevant activities go smoothly.

In October this year, WGT set up a special working group personally headed by the group leader, multi-department coordination, accurately docking seven enterprises and institutions with potential demand in the WGT building. Coordination meeting was held to ensure safety and provide a platform

In November, WGT led business representatives to participate in the coordination meeting of Australian Chinese College Students' Hainan Exchange activities, and carefully listened to the relevant important work deployment. At the meeting, the United Front Work Department reported in detail the precautions of the internship unit and the accommodation family, and stressed the importance of ensuring the safety of students' work, accommodation, dining and other safety issues. At the same time, it is suggested to provide students with matching positions and professional mentors to improve their practical ability, and fully demonstrate the vitality and attractiveness of the business environment of Hainan FTP through this activity.

Activity launch: Chinese college students Hainan study trip officially opened

On December 1, sponsored by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the provincial government and co-organized by Hainan University, Hainan New Social Class Association of Australia, and WGT, the "Australian Burn Nostalgia and Explore New FTP" Hainan Exchange activity for Australian Chinese college students in Hainan 2024 was officially launched in Haikou. Eight Chinese university students from Australia will participate in a half-month study program in Hainan. After the launch of the activity, WGT quickly followed up, helping the internship students to contact the internship unit, and successfully completed the handover work with the enterprise contact person.

This study activity will be carried out in the form of "internship + homestay". Through internship exchanges, provincial investigation and travel, they will have an in-depth understanding of Hainan FTP and appreciate the unique customs and local culture of China's southernmost province. It was also the first such event held in Hainan.

During the study, students will also visit Hainan University, Yangpu Economic Development Zone, Sanya Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City, Wenchang International Space City, Coconut Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences and other places.

This event not only provides a valuable opportunity for Chinese Australian college students to grow, but also further promotes the cultural exchanges between China and Australia. In the future work, WGT will concentrate the resource advantages of the platform, give full play to the linkage effect of government and enterprise, help the international talent exchange of Hainan FTP, and inject new vitality into the construction of free trade port.
