On the afternoon of September 28th, the China (Hainan) - Malaysia Penang Economic and Trade Exchange Meething was successfully held at Windows to Global Trade in Haikou, Hainan, China. Representatives from over 30 Malaysian and Hainan-based companies gathered to explore and engage in business opportunities for cooperation between the two regions. The conference aimed to further promote Hainan's goal of building "Two Headquarters Bases" and establish an international business matchmaking platform for the Hainan Free Trade Port.
The meeting was jointly organized by the Hainan Provincial Bureau of International Economic Development, Hainan Free Trade Zone Windows to Global Trade Management Co., Ltd., and the Penang Premium Business Enterprise Association(PPBEA). The event aimed to promote economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between Hainan and Malaysia in various sectors, including tropical agriculture, semiconductor chips, automobile manufacturing, and gold manufacturing. It served as a platform for bilateral investment and market expansion between Chinese and Malaysian enterprises.
During the conference, the Hainan Provincial Bureau of International Economic Development presented an introduction and interpretation of the advantageous industries and key policies of the Hainan Free Trade Port. Windows to Global Trade promoted the "Southeast Asia Investment Center" and the comprehensive one-stop service system of the Hainan Free Trade Port. Representatives from the Penang Premium Business Enterprise Association (PPBEA) and some member companies introduced the characteristics, current development status, and market opportunities of the manufacturing industry in Penang and the ASEAN region. Representatives from Hainan-based companies such as Zhonglian Hengchuang, Zhonglian Dintai, and Hainan International Trade Corporation conducted brand promotions. During the negotiation and communication sessions, representatives from Hainan and Malaysian companies engaged in in-depth discussions about cooperation opportunities and other matters.
In recent years, cooperation between Hainan and Malaysia has been deepening, particularly in the fields of economy, trade, and tourism, establishing close ties and offering vast opportunities for collaboration. Through this visit and exchange in Hainan, representatives from Malaysian enterprises expressed that Hainan serves as a gateway for China's engagement with ASEAN, benefiting from its unique geographical advantage, favorable policy environment, and immense development potential. The tax system and service framework of the Hainan Free Trade Port are highly attractive to Malaysian businesses. In the future, they hope to deepen cooperation in various sectors such as automobile manufacturing, semiconductor chips, tropical agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and e-commerce services, promoting the development of investment and trade between the two regions.
The Penang Premium Business Enterprise Association (PPBEA) was established in 2018 and consists of prominent individuals and benchmark figures from various sectors in Penang. Its members come from fields such as finance, investment, technology, jewelry, automotive, recycling, energy, and ferrous industries. The association has become the most influential and esteemed business organization in Penang.
The representatives of the PPBEA stated, "Many entrepreneurs who have visited Hainan for the first time have already experienced the friendliness and openness of Hainan towards overseas enterprises. They are also highly interested in the Hainan Free Trade Port and wish to register their companies here. We believe that Hainan and Malaysia will have deeper cooperation in various fields in the future."
The representatives of the Nanyang Education Center Enterprise expressed that by joining the Windows to Global Trade platform, they have enjoyed the specialized services and resource connections provided by the platform, which greatly supports their business development.
As the first platform of the "Hundreds of Nations and Thousand of Enterprises" investment promotion plan in Hainan Province, Windows to Global Trade will continue to assist Hainan in building "Two Headquarters Bases."
